Producer: Mooa Wine Le Bazar Orange Pet Nat 2023 Region: Côtes De Provence, France Grapes: Clairette, Trebbiano, Vermentino Farming: Natural, No Added Sulfur This bright sparkling orange is made from Clairette and Trebbiano with the addition of some Vermentino which Jean-Luc lets ferment for 10 days with the skins. The bubbles form through a mixture of indigenous yeast and second fermentation in the bottle. It has some fruitiness that manifests as raspberry and lemon/lime as well as some toasty herbal notes that makes for a super fun and exciting wine!

Producer: Franchina e Giarone Region: Emilia-Romagna, Italy Grape: Lambrusco Farming: Low Intervention Sparkling rosé wine, obtained by pressing whole bunches of Lambrusco Grasparossa. The pressing is followed by spontaneous fermentation, vinification and aging in fiberglass tanks. After spending the winter in the tank, it was bottled during the crescent moon of March. It did not convert all the sugar into alcohol in the tank, so it finished fermenting in the bottle. Not disgorged.

Perfectly refreshing and an expression of sparkling that could only come from the Finger Lakes.

Producer: AMI Amiami Vice Le Pari Sparkling 2023 Region: Loire Valley, France Grapes: 50% Gewürztraminer, 33% Pinot Gris, 33% Pinot Blanc Farming: Biodynamic PetNat Amiami Vice 2022 is a modern style Burgundy pét-nat that’s hazy in colour and surprising in its lush fruitiness. Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc blended together, with the first couple spending a few days of skin contact maceration, resulting in a pinkish, kind of funky sparkle wonder. Pair with Wednesday night’s assorted charcuterie & medium-funky cheeses.

Grapes: Assyrtiko Region: Santorini, Greece A refreshing Assyrtiko sourced from high-elevation vineyards where ancient winepresses have survived since the Bronze Age. The wine is tank-fermented and aged sur lie for three months. This is a family run winery, headed by oenologist Stelios Alexakis, assisted by his wife and sons.

The blend ‘reflects the whole village of Strass in all its complexity and variety’. A delightful fusion of lemon zest & green apples with a refined texture that coats the palate. The nose is perfume and lively with yellow apples and wet stones.

Grape: Malagousia Region: Macedonia, Greece Farming: Organic, Biodynamic It has a yellow color, lively in the glass. The nose has moderate aromatic intensity with juicy stone fruit and white flowers taking the lead. White-fleshed peach and fresh citrus fruits, mainly orange. Laterally, a botanical character of thyme is also expressed. In the mouth it has a rich body with nice acidity and the same intensities and aromas as the nose. The aftertaste is medium and fruity.

Grape: Chenin Blanc Region: Loire Valley, France Farming: Organic A straw golden color, L'Ange Vin L'iris on the palate is complex, deep, very rich, with notes of lemon, orange, tea, flowers, minerals, dry sherry, nuances of honey and a very long finish. Fresh and balanced mouthfeel and pleasantly slight bitterness at the finish. Made via spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast in stainless steel tank. 40% of the wine underwent a few days of skin contact, while the rest was direct pressed. Malolactic fermentations occurred naturally and 40% of the wine is aged in old chestnut big casks. The final wine is unfined and unfiltered.

The grapes are grown in clay and flint soils from vineyards averaging 15 years of age, cultivated using sustainable farming practices. The grapes undergo direct pressing, and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 4 months on its fine lees in steel tanks before being bottled with light filtration. Brilliant yellow with golden reflections, the wine offers enticing aromas of quince, plum, apricot, and acacia blossom. On the palate, it displays a lovely mineral character complemented by a suave, well-balanced mouthfeel.

From a family owned and operated estate and aged 22 months in new French oak. Aromas of blackerry, violets and tobacco leaves. Notes of cinnamon, dark spices, plum, chocolate covered cherries, forrest floor with a long finish and a full body. 2018 is a cooler growing season, the wine displays richness, elegance and balance. Drinking well now but has all it needs for a long life in the cellar.

Producer: Bodegas Albamar Capitan Xurelo Rias Baixas 2021 Grapes: Caino Tinto/Espadeiro/Mencia Region: Galicia, Spain Farming: Organic Capitan Xurelo is a light, low ABV, chillable red that has crunchy minerality and lip-smacking acidity. It’s one of Xurxo's rare red wines from Rías Baixas. The grapes (40-100+ years in age) are all grown organically over a blend of clay, granite, and schist soil. The Vineyard is incredibly close to the Atlantic ocean and basically at sea level. Only two barrels were produced so get it while you can! Low abv at 11% makes this wine delicate and delicious.

"Crno" literally means black in Croatian, and the wine definitely delivers on darkness in terms of peppery dark fruits and a long mineral finish.

Grape: Zinfandel Region: California Farming: Organic High elevation Zinfandel from the Rorick Heritage Vineyard made by the family run Haarmeyer winery. Whole cluster fermented and aged in neutral oak for 4.5 months. Ruby in color, visibly a lighter red wine and similar to an easy drinking Beaujolais.

Grape: Malbec Region: Vin de France Farming: Organic At first glance, this Malbec shows violet reflections that testify to its youth. On the nose, the aromas of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry are predominant. In the mouth, the wine is supple and fruity with present but fine and elegant tannins. The aromas of red fruits perceived on the nose are found, as well as notes of light spices. The finish is pleasant and leaves a sensation of freshness in the mouth.

Grape: Nebbiolo Region: Piedmont, Italy Farming: Organic With the signature “tar and roses” aromas, have a deceptively light garnet color but full presence on the palate and plenty of tannins and acidity. In a well-made Barolo wine, one can expect to find complexity and good evolution with notes of, for example, strawberry, cherry, plum, leather, truffle, anise, fresh and dried herbs, tobacco and violets.

Grape: Nebbiolo Region: Piedmont, Italy Farming: Organic Starderi is a beautiful vineyard, planted with approximately 50 year old Nebbiolo vines. The yield is quite low and gives an extremely elegant Barbaresco. Olek succeeds very well in making the wine a reflection of that beautiful cru Starderi. Complex, layered, and nuanced. Already terribly good to drink, but will evolve over the years into an even more refined version of itself.

Grape: Xinomavro Region: Macedonia, Greece Farming: Organic The elderly around Amyndeo still call it “Popolka”, the actual name of Xinomavro before the 70’s. A natural, zero-zero red Xinomavro, from its birthplace in the lake terroir of Amyndeo, from the master of its kind, Vasilis Vaimakis. Dark brick red with intense gooseberries and leather notes on the nose and hints of hay, with a surprisingly clean palate and playful tannins.

Fruit from the Côteaux des Corvées, which is THE slope you want to be on in the area. Old vines too. Tart fruited and leathery, with plenty of spice and brightness. Yummy.

It's fresh and flamboyant offering a great joyful drinkability.

Producer: Fabien Jouves, You F My Wine VDF Red 2024 Grapes: Jurancon Noir Region: Loire Valley, France Farming: Traditional We are loving this red blend of Jurancon Noir (a relatively rare French grape) Valdiguie, Merlot and Malbec. It's fresh and light with notes of dark berries. As for its name? Strict French law does not allow the use of Jurancon Noir in Cahors PDO wines and regulators told Fabien he has to remove Jurancon Noir from his wines. But because it's his favorite, he chose to give another name to his wine and an astonishing answer to French legislation.

In 1309 the Pope moved the seat of the Roman Catholic church from Rome to Avignon, from where the next 7 Popes ruled before returning to Rome in 1378. Of the many varieties planted in the region; Grenache noir is one of the best known. This wine is one of our expressions of that variety. Light to medium-bodied, fruit-forward wine. Can be enjoyed slightly chilled for those hotter than average South African summer days.

Slightly sweet, slightly sour and absolutely delicious. Lucchetti's Visciola is made from 100% cherries grown on the estate's farm. They Ferment the cherries with the lacrima wine juice. A treat to enjoy on its own as a dessert wine or as a unique addition to any cocktail list. Our suggestion is a Sour Cherry Paper Plane Cocktail (3/4oz equal parts bourbon, lemon juice, Nonino Amaro, Aperol + Luschetti) or a Sour Cherry French 75 Cocktail (2oz Gin, 3/4oz Luchetti, 3/4oz Maraschino Liqueur, 3/4oz Fresh Lemon Juice, Sparkling Wine).

Distillate: Pink Grapefruit Region: France Farming: Traditional Fresh, pink grapefruit peels are both macerated and steam-distilled to extract the intense aromatic oils contained within. The perfect way to add a little sunshine to creative cocktails or to brighten up some bubbles. Grape: Gouveio, Rabigato & Voisinho Region: Douro, Portugal Farming: Traditional Golden in color, this white port is fresh with citrus and peach aromas and a touch of almond from aging in oak.

Spirit: Rhubarb & Corn Region: Nova Scotia, Canada Farming: Organic This wild 'shine is made from fresh pressed coastal strawberry and rhubarb juice blended with Still Fired's unaged corn whisky to proof down to 20% ABV. From the largest producer in Sanlucar de Barrameda comes this dry, pale straw-yellow colored Manzanilla. Crisp and vibrant with a salty tang, it has a refreshing finish.

BROWN is a coffee liqueur made in collaboration with Café Integral. It is made with a single origin coffee bean –pacamará ambar– grown by Don Sergio Ortez in Nicaragua and roasted in Brooklyn. It is a combination of a cold brew extraction and a ground bean maceration. Serve neat after dinner or in mix into cocktails.
